PEAK'S SHOWCASE BIRD:
PIONUS, MAXIMILIAN'S - MALE
The Maximilian's is one of the largest pionus parrots and is known for its pleasant temperament and willingness to adapt to new environments. It is also a relatively quiet bird, which makes it a good choice for apartment and condo dwellers.
Listed at $875.00, our "Max" was hatched March 18, 2010. He is currently eating Pretty Bird Daily Select Medium and a variety "people" food. He does need a small amount of seed/nuts in his daily diet.
Max enjoys being with people, and will make a great companion!
His coloring, which is presently a combination of greens, blues, purple, rose and white, will intensify and deepen as he matures.
All in all, Max is a great medium-sized parrot. If you've never met a Maximilian's Pionus or are thinking of getting one, come into Peak's and spend some time with him. If you're a good match, he would love to go home with you!

Why did we change the name?
We wanted it to be obvious that we specialize in parrots. "Peak" is significant because it is the name of the Military Macaw chick born to Featherlust's original mascots, Millie and Miller. It provides a sense of continuity. We want to be your "next generation" bird store, with a focus on education and services.
We already board birds and host monthly well-bird clinics. In the near future, we'll be adding training and behavior analysis to the services we provide. Our goal is to improve and strengthen the human-avian bond.
